Flying Through The Storm

Winds associated with the jet stream often contribute to the formation of a hurricane.

Even the slightest change in wind speed can mean the difference between a tropical storm and category one hurricane.

And calculating those precise measurements requires the work of some very dedicated people.

Here's Veronica Johnson of our Weather Plus partner WRC in Washington, DC, with a look at the daily duties of the Air Force reconnaissance team during hurricane season.
